It was always story
With an unnecessary science degree in my back pocket, I took a cue from Seth Godin: 'Find what makes you, you, and double down on it.'
For me, that meant reconnecting with the 7-year-old girl who spent hours on her bottom bunk devouring stories.
Although I don’t get paid to read Roald Dahl (imagine it), it’s a good gig spending my days sharing my love for storytelling in content form. Because let’s face it, every business deserves to find their people and create content that’s better than just ‘Happy Monday!’.
A short story to entertain, tug at the heart strings or convey a lesson.
To encourage the growth of something valuable.
Dare to be different
After 6 years immersed in self-employment and marketing agency life, one thing’s clear: humans love regurgitating features and benefits - *yawn*.
But I like to think I’ve always taken a unique approach to content marketing, steering clear of shiny things. You won’t catch me making anyone dance on reels for reach!
While I’ve been told time and again that written content is dead, it’s those very critics who are missing out on building connection. And for those who have embraced it, well, they’re the ones truly thriving.
